What are sponsored slots in consumer search?
When a consumer runs a search on insurancestorefronts.com — by zip, by state, or by insurance type — High Visibility subscribers fill the top sponsored slot for any matching geography. These slots are clearly above the organic results and are reserved exclusively for the High Visibility tier.
What about sponsored slots in consumer blog posts?
Our consumer-facing blog posts (the ones targeted to specific cities, states, or insurance topics) include an in-content "Local Insurance Experts" block. High Visibility subscribers in the relevant geography are placed in this block above standard Platinum agents.
This is meaningful traffic — those blog posts pull SEO traffic from people researching coverage, who are high-intent and often haven't picked an agent yet.
Are sponsored slots labeled as ads?
They're labeled "Featured" or "Sponsored" in places where transparency matters (we comply with FTC disclosure norms), but the placement looks and feels like a recommendation rather than a banner ad. Consumers read them the same way they read featured results on directory sites.
Can I opt out of being shown in certain blog posts?
The sponsored slot system uses the same geography signals as your Marketing Profile (zip codes + states allowed to service). If you don't want to appear in posts targeting a specific state, remove that state from your States Allowed To Service under Profile → Zip Codes & States.
