What is lead distribution under the settings and how does it work?
Lead distribution controls who gets notified — and how — when this engine produces a lead. Each distribution is one destination (an email address or a phone number) with optional rules that decide which leads it receives.
If you don't add any distributions, leads still flow to your account email and (if set) your SMS number automatically. Use distributions when you need to route to additional people, split leads across a team, or only notify on leads that match specific criteria like state, coverage, or age.
How do I create a new lead distribution for my quote engine?
On the engine's Settings → Lead distribution tab, click Create new distribution. Pick the type (Email or SMS), give it a short description so you'll recognize it later, and enter the destination — an email address or a phone number formatted as (555) 555-5555.
Save it, then click the pencil icon next to the new row to open the Rules modal. There you can scope this destination to specific states, coverage amounts, health classes, age ranges, premium ranges, lead source, referring domain, and more.
How does the round robin work on lead distribution?
Turn on the Round Robin toggle for a distribution and that destination only receives leads in batches of the Ratio you set. A ratio of 3, for example, means the destination gets every third matching lead.
Combine round-robin on multiple distributions to split leads evenly across a team — each agent gets their share without any one person catching every submission.
Is the lead distribution rules required? How does it help with notifications?
No — rules are optional. A distribution with no rules will fire for every lead this engine produces. Rules narrow the firehose so a destination only gets the leads it actually wants.
Common uses: limit a Texas-only agent to Texas leads, send high-coverage life leads to your senior writer, throttle a destination with Leads Per Hour or Leads Per Day caps so nobody gets buried. The rules modal also covers gender, tobacco, lead status, lead source, and referring domain.
Can I pause the notifications of lead distributions?
Yes. Toggle the Enabled switch off on any distribution row and that destination stops receiving notifications immediately — no need to delete and recreate it. Flip it back on whenever you want it active again.
The lead itself still lands in your Leads dashboard either way; the toggle only controls the outgoing email or SMS.
How can I change the powered by on my quote engine?
On the engine's Settings → Powered by tab, pick where the "Powered by" link should send a consumer when they click it — your Insurance Storefronts profile, your website, or a custom URL of your choice.
This tab is only available on plans that allow custom branding (Dedicated and similar tiers). On other plans, the link points to Insurance Storefronts by default.
Where can I limit the state selection on my quote engine?
On the engine's Settings → State selection tab. Toggle on every state you're licensed in — those are the only states the engine will accept quote requests from.
Limit this aggressively. A consumer who gets a quote for a state you can't write in is a wasted lead and a confused prospect. If you only sell in three states, only enable three states.
