Big changes in 2025 for Medicare:
1. The out of pocket maximum for Rx will be $2,000 (down from $8,000). [This cap does not apply to out-of-pocket spending on Part B drugs.]
2. Once you reach the catastrophic phase of coverage, you'll have no out-of-pocket responsibility for covered drugs for the remainder of the year.
3. This will have the biggest impact on people with Part D who have expensive medications and don’t qualify for the Extra Help program (for low income).
4. You'll have the option to pay for your out-of-pocket prescription costs in monthly installments, with a flat monthly limit.
5. This Fall (Oct 15-Dec 7) you should carefully review your Rx plan during open enrollment -- with a licensed Medicare broker.
